NaNoWriMo day 2.

Sigh… to do something that isn’t either economics or NaNo related. So heavenly.

When I write, I’m worrying about economics. When I study, I’m thinking about writing.

Still, I’m slowly getting ahead of schedule with Doorways. (I’m about 400 words ahead of their daily goals.) So if I manage to write at my current rate, I will have gained a day by next week. I may get more writing done this weekend though, but I haven’t decided if I will make my weekend writing-only, or studying-only.

Choices… Choices…

Especially when I consider that both will leave me more or less equally exhausted.

I’m at this stage still wringing the words out of my muse. I get them down, but the effort involved is rather tiring. When I’m not wringing, I’m cramming portions of my economics into my head. Will I be more efficient doing only the one, or the other?

Yes… but I might also kill myself in the process.

Then there’s also the fact that something very strange happened in James and Ward’s story, while a complete stranger appeared in Callan’s. Oh the joys of pantsing.

I do like the stranger, although, he further complicates her life when she really doesn’t need it.

Wait… why am I complaining about that? Complications are good… Complications give me stuff to write about… Hopefully.

How is your NaNo going so far? And please leave your user names so that I can buddy you. 🙂

  1. Sounds like you are off to a good start. I didn't get quite the bang up start i'd hoped for–I was a bit lethargic yesterday. Hoping for a bigger push today although I need to go vote and I agreed to babysit my granddaughter for a while this afternoon.
My storying is shaping up, but I'm just writing and coming up with the details as I come to them. Already I'm having a major mood and plot shift, but that's okay.

  2. Aah the lethargy hits me too sometimes, although I'm quite productive when studying.

I suspect that pen and papering is slowing me down though… But I really don't want to go digital on Doorways.

My story is also twisting and turning a lot of this stage, so I'm not sure quite how much I'm going to have to get rid of at the end of December. There's also the fact that my bigbad refuses to come out of hiding… Which means that I'm in for significant rewriting. But those are concerns for another day. Right now I only want to write whatecer occurs to me.

    P.S. Added you. 🙂

  3. I only just realized I hadn't hit the follow button, yet I've been lurking. Sorry, bad bloggy friend!

Good luck on that weekend decision – mine would be writing, but then economics was always Greek to me (and I don't understand Greek at all!)

Best to you – see you around.

PS – I'm desviado on nana!

  4. Haha DL that's ok. There's about a hundred blogs that I follow that never track back to me. That's ok, since I follow most of them because I like the blogger's writer's style. So there's no reason to feel bad. 🙂

    Thanks lots Quinn.

  5. Too bad you can't combine the two…
I have more free time on the weekends, but I'm aiming for 1500 a day during the week. My NaNo name is AlexJCavanaugh. Yeah, original! Otherwise I'd forget my own name.

  6. The best part of pantsing is the surprises! Enjoy them. I did pretty well yesterday on Nano; almost 4000 words. That just buys me time for later when I won't be able to write anything.

    And I think we're already buddies. 🙂

  7. Haha that does happen, Alex. Sometimes I get called by my usernames so often that I get startled when my real name pops up. 😛 Good luck with the goal.

I'm glad that everything is going well, Golden. Good luck with the rest of them!

Congrats Elana that is a great session, I think. Hope you get more of them!

Thanks a lot for dropping by Claudia. 🙂

I must say I love it too, Christina. (^_^)

I'd love to know what you think, so please leave a comment!
